News » 36th Annual Debutante Ball, February 18
Published on Jan 21 2007 by Divan of the Diocese
Preparations are underway for the 36th Annual Debutante Ball sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church. The ball will be held on Sunday, February 18 at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills.
The ball is one of the highlights of the year in the Armenian community. This year will be no exception with the presentation of twenty-four young ladies. Debutantes and their mothers attended a luncheon in the fall and were provided with information about the plans and activities surrounding the Ball. In November the Debutantes and their parents were guests at the home of Mrs. Rose Ketchoyan for a Holiday Luncheon.
The members of the Ladies Auxiliary, under the Chairmanship of Mrs. Cindy Norian, have started rehearsals with the debutantes and escorts. With an unusually large group of young ladies and their escorts participating this year a huge crowd is anticipated.
His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate, commends the members of the Ladies Auxiliary for their tireless efforts in organizing this most auspicious event. The Primate praised them for pursuing a nobler purpose in reaching out to the community members and instilling in their hearts the notion of partnership in God’s work in the making of a community.
The Mistress of Ceremonies for the ball is Adrienne Krikorian, a distinguished and active member of the Armenian community. She has been an active member and leader of the Western Diocese and her local parish, St. Peter Armenian Church in Van Nuys, for more than 40 years. Currently she is chair of the Western Diocese legal and by-laws committee and serves as legal advisor to the Diocesan Council and Archbishop Hovnan Derderian.
Tickets are $150,00 each ($100.00 for students). For reservations please call Rose Ketchoyan (818) 788-5138. A memorabilia booklet is also being prepared and ads can be obtained by calling Margaret Lulejian (818) 886-3481.
