Western Diocese

Under the auspices of His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian,  Primate, the 5^th Amnual Christmas Ball of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America will be held on December 6, 2008  at the Nazareth and Sima Kalaydjian Hall, Arshag and Eleanor Dickranian Diocesan Complex at 3325 North Glenoaks Boulevard in Burbank.  The festivities will begin with a Gala Reception at 7:00 p.m., followed by dinner and dancing at 8:00 p.m.

 

Plans are already underway under the leadership and direction of Raffi Kendirjian, Chair of the Christmas Ball Committee.  "Our committee has been hard at work for many months in planning an entertaining and festive evening to celebrate the Christmas Season, "stated Kendirjian, "The highlight of the evening will be the recognition of a group of our young professional Armenian-American leaders in the community."

 

Under the initiation of His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, the evening will focus on young professional Armenians and recognize their contributions to the community as well as their success in their chosen careers.  The Primate stated:  "We want to honor these young future leaders of tomorrow and celebrate their accomplishments and achievements."

 

The honorees include the Honorable Judge Zaven Sinanian;  Dr. Arto Haddadian;  Fox newscaster Anita Vogel;  documentary film producer Carla Garapedian;  AGBU Pasadena Principal Dr. Talin Kargodorian, Daniel Banks (UBS Los Angeles Market Area Manager),  Assistant City Attorney Michael Amerian,  Armenia Fund Board Chair Maria Mehranian, scientist Dr. Ara Apkarian, Chief of Staff Elect of the Glendale Adventist Medical Center Dr. Steven Kamajian, Medical Director of CHA IVF Fertility in Los Angeles Dr. Vicken Sepilian, Ophthalmologist Dr. Hratch Kourouyan, Dr. Jack K. Der-Sarkissian (a partner of the Southern California Permanente Medical Group), Pharmacist Vahan Aladadian and Educator Hratch Sepetjian.  Guests will enjoy a video showcasing the honorees and hearing firsthand about their lives and careers.

 

 

 

Entertainment for the evening will be provided by the Memories Band.  A raffle of a variety of gifts will also be held.  Tickets for the event are $125.00 and can be obtained by calling the Diocese (818) 558-7474.
