On June 3, 2007, Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate, attended the Armenian Allied Arts Association Annual Reception and Awards Ceremony.  The Primate was invited to address the young artists and in his remarks stated:  “Art is a God given gift.  We are all graced with special gifts.  If we are able to fulfill our aims and purposes we then are co-creators with God.  Those who are leaders in the artistic life are the ones who inspire people with this love and life.”  Deacon Mayis Shahbazian accompanied the Primate to the awards ceremony.
