On Sunday, April 29, 2007, three dedicated members of the St. John Garabed Armenian Church in Hollywood were honored and presented with the Pontifical Encyclicals and the Medals of St. Nersess the Graceful. The recipients were Mr. and Mrs. Nishan Blikian, Dr. and Mrs.Yeghia Taglian and Dr. and Mrs. Hagop Mkhsian.

His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate, celebrated the Badarak, delivered the sermon and bestowed the Pontifical Encyclicals to the three honored recipients.  The Primate in his remarks stated “Celebrations in the life of any institution become more inspiring when we celebrate the lives of our faithful.  Celebrations become more meaningful and significant in the lives of any institution when we witness the dedication and devotion of our faithful in the service of the Lord.  Today’s honorees deserve appreciation and gratitude for their most genuine and dedicated service.”

Following the Diving Liturgy a reception took place at the church hall during which time Fr. Manoog Markarian, the Pastor of St. John Garabed Armenian Church, made concluding remarks.  Each of the honorees expressed their gratitude for this very special recognition.
