It is with a sense of spiritual joy that following the 80th Anniversary of the establishment of the Western Diocese of North American, the Western Diocese will celebrate the 110th Anniversary of the Armenian Church's establishment in the United States.
After a series of fulfilling religious, ecumenical, and cultural events commemorating the auspicious anniversary of the Western Diocese's establishment, there will be held on the October 21, 2007 a special event honoring His Holiness Mgrditch I of Blessed Memory, loving referred to as Khrimian Hayrig, who through his Encyclical of July 2nd, 1898 formally established the Diocese of the Armenian Church in the United States. This date has special meaning and significance in the religious and cultural history of the Armenian Church in America.
On this prodigious occasion His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, is making an official pontifical visitation to the United States during October.
