Western Diocese

On Thursday, June 28, 2007, Hovan Simonian’s book, “The Hemshin” was presented to the public at the Diocesan Headquarters in Burbank.   This cultural program was organized by the alumni of the Getronagan School of Constantinople.  The book was presented by Mr. Hovsep Tokat and Dr. Hirair Dekmejian.  The evening concluded with remarks by His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate, who commended the exceptional work of Dr. Hovan Simonian.  In his remarks, the Primate stated “This book is an invaluable treasure for all universities and academic centers..  Truly, it supplies ready documentation about the remnants of survivors of the genocide as well as the oppression of the Ottoman Turks.”
