Several months ago, by the initiative of the Primate, the new parish of Ventura County was formed. The City of Camarillo is the designated center for the parish. Raffy Astvasadoorian, Esq., Chairman of Parish Council, is recognized as a dedicated and able leader and responsible for organizing the parish activities.
On Sunday, October 14, 2007, His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian celebrated the Divine Liturgy and delivered the sermon. The Primate introduced the newly appointed parish priest, Rev. Fr. Hovel Ohanyan, who would also continue his service at the Diocesan Headquarters and continue his education. However, Fr. Hovel Ohanyan will celebrate the Holy Liturgy once a month, until the end of the year 2007. Starting January 1, 2008, Fr. Ohanyan will move to Camarillo.
