On March 2, 2008, His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian paid a pastoral visit to St. John Armenian Church in San Francisco. The Primate celebrated the Divine Liturgy and delivered the sermon in which he expanded on the theme of the 5th Sunday of the Lent – “Judge.” The Primate baptized Grace, the daughter of Fr. Sarkis Petoyan and Yertsgin Talean, during the church service. The Primate presented Mrs. Vicky Palangian and Sona Tovmasian with the ‘Armenian Spirit’ Award for their dedicated service to the Church. The church service was followed by a reception.
