On Monday, February 5, 2007, Very Rev. Fr. Dajad Dz. V. Yardemian and Dn. Kevork Halladjian, Dn. Matthew Ash, and Dn. Mkrtich Ksachikyan traveled to St. Nersess Armenian Seminary, in New Rochelle, New York. The purpose of the visit was to introduce the deacons, who are clergy candidates of the Western Diocese, to the programs of the St. Nersess Seminary. The faculty, staff, and students of St. Nersess Seminary were extremely gracious hosts and made every effort to introduce and include the visitors in the seminary life during their brief stay.
During their stay the deacons attended classes at St. Nersess Armenian Seminary. The deacons also attended an evening class taught at St. Vladimir’s Seminary. Also, Very Rev. Fr. Dajad and the deacons joined the seminarians during morning and evening services in the chapel of the seminary.
“It was a wonderful experience for me. I am thankful for the graciousness of my brothers and sisters in Christ at St. Nersess,” said Dn. Matthew Ash.
On Tuesday, February 6, Very Rev. Fr. Dajad and the deacons traveled to St. Vartan Cathedral, the Eastern Diocesan complex and had the opportunity to meet with His Eminence Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Primate of the Eastern Diocese. Rev. Fr. Mardiros Chevian, Dean of St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral and Deacon Levon Altiparmakian, also attended the meeting.
