Rev. Dr. Fr. Stépanos Dingilian, Pastor of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Riverside led the celebration of the Feast of the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, April 24, 2011.

The Junior Choir took part in the Holy Badarak and the Home Blessing Service afterwards. Gifts from the community were blessed and shared with all the faithful.

After the services, the community shared a meal with the Youth guiding the prayer and singing of patriotic songs. Many of the youth maintained their Lent commitment of no meat, sweets and ice cream. So returning to a traditional Armenian meal was extra special for all.

Rev. Dr. Fr. Dingilian presented an educational program in Armenian and English on the Easter story from the Bible and its relevance to us today. All the major events that Christ experienced and their significance were presented. He also spoke of how the Crucifixion, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ is especially relevant for appreciating the martyrdom of 1.5 million Armenians who perished during the 1915 Genocide.

Finally, the youth had the opportunity to conduct the Easter Egg Hunt and share their treasures with the remaining faithful of the community.

The community was inspired to see the Parish continuing to grow and strengthen.
