Deacons’ Executive Council Meets at Diocesan Headquarters
The Deacons’ Executive Council of the Western Diocese met at the Diocesan Headquarters on Saturday, June 30, 2012. Representing the Primate and presiding over the meeting was Archpriest Fr. Hovsep Hagopian.
Chaired by Deacon Hamlet Mehrabian, six deacons from the Los Angeles Area including Dn. Sarkis Skaian (St. Peter, Van Nuys), Dn. George Mardigian (St. James, Los Angeles), Dn. Vartan Zargarian (St. Leon Armenian Cathedral, Burbank), Dn. Suren Nersesyan (St. Sarkis, Santa Clarita), Dn. Shant Dilanian (Armenian Church in La Canada and Crescenta Valley) and Dn. Hovhannes Gumruyan (St. John Garabed, Hollywood) participated in the meeting. A CD prepared by the Deacons’ Council has been sent to all parishes of the Western Diocese. A DVD is presently in the works. To ensure uniformity in the liturgical chants, it was decided adopt the singing in the style of Holy Etchmiadzin.
The Deacons’ Annual Assembly will be held on September 22, 2012 at St. Leon Armenian Cathedral.
