Primate Congratulates Harold M. Schulweis Humanitarian Award Recipients
The inaugural celebration and presentation of the Harold M. Schulweis Humanitarian Award was held from May 18-20, 2012 at Valley Beth Shalom in Encino, California. Diocesan Primate Archbishop Hovnan Derderian congratulated the three honorees with a congratulatory letter wherein His Eminence noted the valuable contributions of Rabbi Harold Schulweis in promoting the recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
“Words will never come close to describing the immense contributions of Rabbi Harold Schulweis, a distinguished humanitarian, a community leader, a visionary and a beloved friend. He has not only been a well-respected individual within his community but also an active participant on the world scene. He has been an advocate of the recognition of the Armenian Genocide, a noble act for which we are extremely thankful.
…Harold Schulweis has led a life with noble aspirations. His visions were clear as he always looked into his heart, spoke from his heart and touched the hearts of the people. His love for the people of God has been reflected through action. His love for God carries over to those who surround him.
We wholeheartedly congratulate Harold M. Schulweis humanitarian award honorees Elaine Berke, Faith Cookler and Janice Kamenir Reznik.
May God bless and protect you and your loved ones.
Prayerfully,
Archbishop Hovnan Derderian
