On March 10, 2010, the Sunday School of the Armenian Church of La Canada and Crescenta Valley, under the direction of Superintendent Miss Aghavni Achekian, organized a reception following the Median Day of Lent prayer service.

Rev. Archpriest Fr. Hovsep Hagopian, Parish Priest of the Armenian Church of La Canada, offers a "peaceful" prayer service every Wednesday and Friday during the Lenten period. Sunday School students often participate during the prayer service and recite prayers of St. Nerses the Graceful.

Dn. Varazdat Barseghian also participated in the Median Day Vigil service. The students of the Sunday School delighted the faithful with their charming prayers. Mr. Hayk Madoyan, a Diocesan staff member was the guest speaker of the day. He reflected on the importance of the Great Lent and explained the purpose of the Median Day of Lent.

Rev. Archpriest Fr. Hovsep Hagopian expressed his appreciation to Mr. Hayk Madoyan for his insightful reflections. He thanked the Superintendent and the teaching staff of the Sunday School for their wonderful mission in educating the children. He expressed his blessings to Mrs. Maggie Barseghian and Mrs. Sossy Garabedian for preparing the Lenten dishes of the reception.

The Vigil concluded with the Lord's Prayer by the Sunday School children.
