January 31, 2008 — On Wednesday, January 30, His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese, was the honored guest at a reception and luncheon hosted by His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos, the Head of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco.

Summer Camp Committee Meets; Plans Upcoming Year

January 18, 2008 — The Western Diocese Summer Camp Committee gathered for its second regular meeting of the 2008 Summer Camp season on Saturday, January 5th at St. Paul, Fresno. We joined other Diocesan organizations, including Camp Board, Diocesan Council and ACYO Central council, at a luncheon and open forum discussion hosted by Abp. Hovnan Derderian.

Despite the heavy rain, over 800 enthusiastic faithful-members of the Western Diocese filled the Kalaydjian Hall of the Diocesan Headquarters to celebrate the Birth of Christ.

His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese, on Sunday, December 30, 2007, on the occasion of the Name Day of St. Peter Armenian Church of Van Nuys, celebrated Divine Liturgy and offered the sermon at the sanctuary of St. Peter Armenian Church of Van Nuys. In his sermon, the Primate reflected on the lives of Sts. Peter and Paul and their ministry and missionary activities throughout the world.
