Fr. Zacharia Saribekian assigned as pastor of the Armenain Church of Scottsdale, Arizona

We are happy to announce to the Diocesan Clergy, Parish Councils, Diocesan Delegates, auxiliary organizations, and our faithful that Abp. Hovnan Derderian has assigned Fr. Zacharia Saribekyan as the pastor of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Arizona.

Fr. Zacharia and his family, from Amman, Jordon, will move to Arizona on July 29th and will assume his pastoral responsibilities as of August 1st, 2007.

Brief Biography

Fr. Zacharia Saribekyan (baptismal name Sarkis) was born in Armenia. In 1994 he was ordained to the priesthood in Jerusalem by His Beatitude Archbishop Torkom Manoogian, Patriarch of Jerusalem. In 1997 he was assigned by Patriarch Torkom to be the pastor of St. Thaddeus Armenian Church of Amman, Jordan. This position continued until his transfer to the Western Diocese. While in Amman he taught at the Uzbashian-Guelbenkian School and published the parish newspaper.

Fr. Zacharia Saribekyan and his family are welcomed by the Western Diocese.
