The Kohar Symphony Orchestra & Choir of Gyumri, Armenia, is the most popular orchestra in its rendition of “All Time Armenian Favorites” with innovative and revised arrangements and orchestration that have become the trademark of its performances.
Kohar’s major concerts abroad have been great successes in Cyprus-2002, Lebenon-2002, Trukey-2005, Russia-2006 and currently Kohar is in the United States for an extensive east-west concert tour. The first concert will be held at the Gibson Theater in Los Angeles, on October 18, 2007.
On October 2005 the turn was for Istanbul to enjoy Kohar’s presentation of “All Time Armenian Favorites.” More than 7000 Armenian and others from Istanbul, the suburbs, other cities of Turkey and from as far away as Adana province expressed their love and nostalgia for Armenian song, music and dance.
During the course of its almost 10-year existence, Kohar has become an important cornerstone in the unique musical rendition of Armenian Favorites for the Armenian Diaspora with the aim of reviving and promulgating the Armenian alphabet and culture, and bringing its share in preserving the Armenian heritage for the future generations.
