“Put on Christ”
The Resurrection of the Lord is the most inspiring and powerful event in the history of the world, one which continues to challenge us to live our God-given life spiritually transformed in all circumstances during all times.
“Put on Christ” (Rom 13:14)
This is a message by St. Paul addressed to the Galatians, but equally to us all, enlightening in our spirituality the truth about Christ our Lord and the message conveyed to all mankind. However, this message needs to be embodied and applied not only in our personal lives, but mostly in our communities.
“Put on Christ"
The Resurrection being the culmination of the course of events which has taken place during the Holy Week, has revolutionized the world, spiritually paving the road for us all to come closer to God and make Christ the armor of our spiritual life, and above all, to follow the patterns of sacrificial life of Our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. The discipline of living a life with Christ brings us all closer to God, and closer to humanity, in rendering our pastoral services to mankind as a reflection of our Christian faith and love.
“Put on Christ"
The Resurrection of Christ our Lord has inspired us all to transform and transfigure our spiritual life. In this way, reawakening in us all a new sense of responsibility and commitment to cultivate our life of faith in a unique and effective way to alleviate all the negative aspects of our personal life as well from the life of our community.
We live in a world where humanity suffers in a multiple of wars, wherein humanity continues to fail in realizing a moral life. The true Christian, be a pastor or a layperson, cannot preach the faithful without fulfilling the deep instructions given by himself or herself. Those who live deep in their hearts and souls the presence of Christ cannot act otherwise than showing a loving, caring and forgiving heart for their brothers and sisters in Christ. Those who thoroughly live the presence of Christ in their hearts and souls and are lead by the miraculous Resurrection are the ones who step closer to God.
The Resurrection of Christ our Lord renews our spiritual life, thus reawakening within our spirituality a firm commitment to live as true Christians. The Resurrection of Christ our Lord is the destiny of all faithful Christians. During the spiritual journey which leads us to the Resurrection of Christ our Lord, we all experience hurdles, troublesome times, thus becoming partakers in the sufferings of our Lord. Similarly, as we walk through the journey of the Holy Week and celebrate the victorious Resurrection, we then make the Resurrection the source of our progress, achievement and the vision of excellence.
The Resurrection of Christ our Lord challenges our faithful and especially the youth to be loyal to the teachings of Christianity. The Resurrection of Christ our Lord challenges us to be truly dedicated and loyal servants of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin as the everlasting center of the Armenian Apostolic Church. The Resurrection of Christ our Lord challenges us to be engaged in the reform of the Armenian Church. We give thanks to God for the new generation in the life of the Mother Church led by our beloved Catholicos of All Armenians. In the coming decades, undoubtedly we will be launching a new era with the ordination of many new candidates, through whom the mission of the Armenian Church will be strengthened.
Dear faithful in Christ let us take heed to the message of St. Paul. “Put on Christ” and strengthen our faith with the vision of the sanctity of the Armenian Christian family, with the teaching of the Word of God to our children, thus turning our lives into tools of peace and love, as the embodiment of Christ's Resurrection in our daily life. The message of St. Paul is also addressed to all communities of the Western Diocese. In a time when we celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the Western Diocese, we remember in our prayers all the departed souls of former Primates and servants who rest in peace. The 80th Anniversary will become meaningful only when we make the Church a vigilant presence in our Diocesan life. We ought to work hand in hand with the vision of instilling in the hearts and souls of our children the faith of Christ.
Therefore, armored with this vision, let us pronounce the blessed Resurrection of Christ as the sole source and strength of our spiritual renewal.
