Primate’s Pastoral Visit to Portland Armenian Church

On Sunday, February 10, 2008, the Primate paid a pastoral visit to the Armenian Church in Portland, Oregon. His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian celebrated Divine Liturgy and delivered the sermon. Fr. Zareh Mansuryan, Parish Priest, and Dn. Kevork Parseghian, Chairman of the Parish Council, assisted the Primate in the celebration of the Divine Liturgy. The Primate during the sermon commended Fr. Zareh Mansuryan and the Parish Council members for their dedicated service to the Church.
The Primate honored Mr. and Mrs. Yerjanik and Nazik Arakelian, Harutyun and Irene Danielian, Albert and Linda Bedrosian and Aram and Anjel Mashikian with “Blessing and Commendation†certificates, for their dedicated service to the Parish and the Church in general.
The Primate also presented a “Blessing and Commendation†certificate to Diana Bedrosian and Tzovinar Ghazarian for their crucial role and service in starting the Parish Saturday School programs. The Primate kindly handed out memorabilia to all members of the Parish Council, the director of Saturday School program, teachers and 19 students. The Primate offered his words of encouragement and appreciation to the members of the choir and distributed memorabilia among the members. A reception followed the church service that rendered a precious opportunity to the faithful members to converse and interact with their Primate.
