Dear members of the ACYO family,

The Sports Weekend, although not a religious venue brings youth of the ACYO for a unique fellowship. The fun-filled weekend facilitates a new platform of friendship and camaraderie. Together you engage in activities which strengthen your physical bodies. However, Sports Weekends are special times for all of us to encounter God in our personal and collective lives. The ultimate goal of each gathering is for each of us to become a witness of Christ in the lives of our fellow brothers and sisters. “Carry each other’s burdens and in this way you will fulfill the Law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2).

I convey to you my pastoral love and deep respect. Be steadfast in your Christian faith hope and love and remember your God-given gifts which you ought to share with many. I also would like to thank Rev. Fr. Avedis Abovian, the Youth Director of the Western Diocese for his zealous dedication and committed service.

This is also the weekend when the Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates a significant liturgical feast, namely the Feast of the Pentecost. May the Holy Spirit shower upon you bountiful blessings and gifts.
