Camp Staff and Counselors Participate in Training Session
Published on Jun 30 2010 by Youth Department
Excited for the upcoming 2010 Western Diocese Summer Camp program, Camp staff and counselors attended the mandatory Training Session on Saturday, June 26 which was held at John Muir Middle School in Burbank. The program was run by the Camp Committee and experienced volunteers.
The training session is a crucial part of the preparation process for the Camp program. It ensures that staff and counselors all have a necessary introduction to the skills and approaches that are required for their position. It also ensures that they are all aware of the policies that govern the Camp program, for the benefit of the campers.
The Camp Committee is proud to announce that this year, prior to participating in the training session, all staff and counselors were required to complete a set of online training courses that familiarized them with crucial concepts regarding their responsibilities. This is another step that was taken in order to ensure the excellence of those volunteers working with our youth.
Additionally it was a wonderful opportunity for the attendees of each respective to get to know one another and socialize prior to their arrival at Camp.
This year's Camp weeks are as follows:
- Week 1: 7/18-7/24 (Open)
- Week 2: 7/25-7/31 (closed for campers)
- Week 3: 8/01-8/07 (Open)
- Week 4: 8/08-8/14 (closed for boys)
