On Friday, December 11, 2009 Rev. Fr. Avedis Abovian, Diocesan Youth Director visited Phoenix, Arizona and was warmly greeted by Rev. Fr. Zacharia Saribekyan, Parish Priest of St. Apkar Armenian Church.

We are pleased to inform you that the Primate presided over the consecration rite of St. Apkar earlier this year on September 20, 2009. On December 11, amidst the jubilation of the faithful, a special ceremony took place in celebration of the placement of the main dome cross and the small dome cross of the church. A reception followed the ceremony at the hall of the church.

Three Hour Meeting with ACYO

Under the direction of Fr. Zacharia Saribekyan, the ACYO of St. Apkar Armenian Church is filled with excitement for the upcoming programs of the organization.

Under the direction of Fr. Avedis Abovian and participation of Ani Khatchadourian, Chair of the WD-ACYO, and Raffi Postaljian, Vice-Chair of the WD-ACYO, the members of the organization convened for a three-hour meeting and developed the activity a schedule for the upcoming year. The youth of St. Aprkar Armenian Church thanked Rev. Fr. Avedis Abovian, the Chair and the Vice-Chair of the WD-ACYO for visiting the Parish.

The youth were treated to a special program titled "Yerevan Nights". Over 250 youth members attended the event, danced to Armenian music and were treated to traditional Armenian cuisine.
