ECF Reception Raises over $6,000
A reception, benefitting the Etchmiadzin Children’s Fund (ECF), was held at the Western Diocese on on June 14, 2012. Close to 70 guests attended the reception held in the Hampar Family Room of the Diocesan Complex.
ECF committee member Alice Chakrian welcomed the guests and introduced the noble mission of the ECF. Following a short video presentation, Archbishop Hovnan Derderian spoke of the importance of reaching out to the children of Armenia and commended the leadership role of ECF Chair Gayane Tatoulian. The artistic portion of the program featured violinist Ruben Aghyan and a performance by the Nairi Dance Ensemble. The ECF reception raised $6,225.
The Etchmiadzin Children’s Fund is one of the dearest missions in Western Diocese of the Armenina Church of North America. For the past twenty years, the Western Diocese has been actively engaged in the lives of the children of Armenia. Many of them live at sub-poverty levels and lack necessary nourishment. Through donor contributions, these children are provided with not only food and shelter but also with spiritual guidance and care. Today, close to 500 orphans and needy children receive financial support through the efforts of kind-hearted individuals.
