Western Diocese

On May 14, 2009, upon the invitation of The Honorable Ardashes Kassakhian, City Clerk, the monthly luncheon/meeting of the Glendale Religious Leaders Association for the month of May was held at the City Manager's Conference Room of the City of Glendale. Various Department Heads briefly spoke about their departments and different venues of cooperation between the GRLA and the City of Glendale were explored and discussed during this meeting. Councilmembers John Drayman and Laurel Friedman also joined the group towards the end of the meeting and in their remarks stressed the importance of cooperation between the religious community of Glendale and the City of Glendale.

Remo Alexandri, Director of the Department of Communications of the Western Diocese, representing the Primate, attended this meeting. According to an agreement reached by the Diocesan Representative, the City Clerk and the President of the GRLA, Armenian Clergy from the Western Diocese will periodically offer the invocation during the Glendale City Council meetings, which are held regularly on every Tuesday, starting at 6:00 PM, broadcasted on Channel 6, Charter Communications-Glendale.
