Holy Synod of the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem to Elect New Patriarch in January 2013

We hereby announce that The Holy Synod of the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem convened on November 8, 2012 under the presidency of the Patriarchal Locum Tenens His Eminence Archbishop Aris Shirvanian, decided to call the General Assembly of St. James Brotherhood to a meeting next January 23, 24, 25, 2013, to elect a new Patriarch as successor to the late Patriarch His Beatitude Archbishop Torkom Manoogian whose passing has left the Holy See vacant.

We pray that preparatory works for the election go forward successfully and the Holy See of Jerusalem will have its worthy occupant.
