Another historic chapter was written was in the life of AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, when the two High School Science Labs were blessed and dedicated.
In recognition of a generous donation by benefactor Mr. Ghazaros Bodossian, one lab was dedicated to the memory of his wife Dikranouhi and the other to the memory of his in-laws Artin and Maritsa Hovasapian-Nazarian, parents of Hagop Nazarian of Jerusalem.
The guests in attendance included the benefactor, Mr. Bodossian, his nieces Verginia Markarian and Arsho Bodossian, Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese, Mr. Sinan Sinanian, AGBU Vice President and School Board Chairman, clergy accompanying the Primate, PTO and Booster Club representatives, members of the Faculty, Administration and the Student Council.
The Primate, accompanied by the Very Rev. Fr. Maghakia Amiryan, a visiting clergyman from Holy Etchmiadzin and Rev. Fr. Khajag Shahbazyan, Pastor of St. Leon Armenian Cathedral, performed a moving religious ceremony, blessing the dedicated classrooms and the benefactor. A traditional ribbon cutting ceremony followed, after which the guest toured the two science labs and admired the state-of-the-art equipment and set up of these vital school facilities.
The memorable event concluded with a light reception in the Board room where refreshments were served and gifts and pleasantries exchanged before Mr. Bodossian and his entourage left the campus.
