A new Armenian Church was consecrated in Halle, Germany last weekend. Archbishop Karekin Bekdjian, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church in Germany, presided over the consecration and the weekend's program.

Bishop Anushavan Jamkotchian, dean of the theological faculty of Yerevan State University, was the first priest to celebrate the Divine Liturgy at the church on Sunday, April 18, 2010.

The new house of worship - called Holy Resurrection Armenian Church - is housed in a building dating to 1901. Formerly a Roman Catholic Church, the building was purchased by the local Armenian community in 2006.
