St. Andrew, Cupertino Hosts Annual Banquet

On February 11, 2012, His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate, attended the Annual Banquet of St. Andrew Armenian Apostolic Church. Closed to 100 faithful attended the banquet which was held in the Amirian Hall of the Parish.
For their years of dedicated service to the Parish, parishioners Dr. Peter Abaci and Mr. Noubar Manoukian were presented with St. Nerses the Graceful medals, an honor awarded by His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians. At the request of St. Andrew Pastor Fr. Datev Harutyunian, the Primate awarded parishioner Anoush Mardarenian the Diocesan “Hye Spirit” medal for her valuable services rendered to St. Andrew Armenian Apostolic Church. The Primate congratulated the honorees and extended to them his blessings and genuine wishes.
In his remarks, Archbishop Derderian commended the dedication of Fr. Datev Harutyunian and noted the Pastor’s crucial role in involving the youth in the life of St. Andrew.
Deacon Matthew Ash, appointed Pastor of St. John Armenian Church in San Francisco and Diocesan clergy Rev. Fr. Avedis Abovian, Youth Director of the Western Diocese and Rev. Fr. Asoghig Jamgochian, Pastor of St. James Armenian Church in Sacramento also attended the festive banquet.
