St. Paul Fresno Hosts Regional Meeting
The Central California Regional meeting was held on Saturday May 26th at St. Paul Armenian Church in Fresno, California. The meeting was presided by Diocesan Primate Archbishop Hovnan Derderian and was chaired by Central California Regional Vicar Archpriest Fr. Yeghia Hairabedian. Parish Priests, Parish Council Chairs, Parish Delegates and Ladies’ Society members from St. Paul in Fresno, St. Gregory the Illuminator in Fowler, St. Mary in Yettem, Sts. Sahag-Mesrob in Reedley and Holy Cross in Turlock participated in the meeting.
Topics of discussion included next year’s Pontifical Visit of His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians to the Western Diocese on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of establishment of the Western Diocese. The Primate also noted that the Pontiff would preside over the 86th Annual Diocesan Assembly at St. Leon Armenian Cathedral of the Western Diocese. His Eminence informed the participants that the 2013 Womens’ Day of Prayer would be hosted by one of the Central California Parishes. His Eminence also added that preparations are met to hold the “Best Practices” Seminar on a regional level.
The Primate thanked the participating members and Archpriest Fr. Yeghia Hairabedian for his leadership and dedication as Central California Vicar. The meeting adjourned with a closing prayer.
