WD Vicar General Celebrates Divine Liturgy in Portland

On the auspicious occasion of the first celebration of the Divine Liturgy at the newly purchased sanctuary of the Armenian Church of Portland, the Vicar General of the Western Diocese, Very Rev. Fr. Dajad Dz. V. Yardemian delivered the consecrated cornerstone (consecrated by His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate, in the Western Diocese) to the church, on Sunday, August 24, 2008.The
Vicar General accompanied by chanting clergy delivered the consecrated cornerstone to the holy altar. This moving opening for the Sunday church service was followed by the celebration of the Divine Liturgy and deliverance of the sermon – for the first time – by Very Rev. Fr. Dajad Dz. V. Yardemian. More than 250 faithful were present during the church service. A reception was held following the church service.
