At the decree of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, the Feast Day of St. Sarkis was dedicated to the youth of the Church. The Feast Day of St. Sarkis is celebrated with great excitement at St. John Garabed Armenian Church in Hollywood.

On February 3, the eve of the Feast of St. Sarkis the Warrior, Diocesan Primate presided over a traditional evening prayer service at St. John Garabed Armenian Church in Hollywood. Participating clergy included Archpriest Fr. Manoug Markarian, Pastor of St. John Garabed and Rev. Fr. Yeremia Khachatryan, visiting clergy from Cordoba, Argentina. A large number of community youth attended the service.

Dn. Hovhannes Gumruyan spoke about the life of the revered saint while ACYO member Anna Arakelyan stressed the importance of the Feast Day for the youth of the Armenian Apostolic Church.

A special youth blessing ceremony followed the prayer service during which salty pastries were blessed and distributed to the faithful. In his homily, the Primate stressed the importance of living a Christ-centered life in the example of the saint.

A reception at the Ghazanchian Hall followed the service.
