WDEF - How to Participate

You can become a participant to the WDEF by establishing a Fund in your name, or in the name of a loved one, designating a beneficiary established by the WDEF Board. The minimum amount required to establish such a Fund is $1,000.

Additionally, the WDEF Board has adopted the following ranges of donations in an effort to categorize the vast range of donations and to give the proper recognitions to the various individuals according to the amount given.

The categories are as follows:

Grand Benefactor $500,000 and above
Benefactor $100,000 to $499,000
Donor $50,000 to $99,000
Patron $25,000 to $49,000
Supporter $10,000 to $24,000
Friend $5,000 to $9,000

Donations to the Fund have so far ranged from outright cash to stocks, bonds, legacies or pledges that are fulfilled over time.

WDEF can make available legal arrangements for the seamless transfer of assets that benefit both donors and the Fund.

Such transfers minimize the benefactor’s tax burden and maximize the recipient’s benefits. The spiritual and emotional satisfaction is an added blessing.

Your gifts to the WDEF will make a difference beyond the confines of a lifetime. They help towards the formation of a better church for the generations to come. All donor names will be included on a plaque on exhibit at the Cathedral Complex.
