On May 4, 2008, His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate, attended the Mother’s Day Musical Event organized by the Ladies’ Society of the La Canada Parish held at the La Canada High School Auditorium. The guests led by Archpriest Fr. Hovsep Hagopian recited the Lord’s Prayer. Mrs. Lena Simonian offered the opening remarks wherein she welcomed His Eminence and the accompanying clergy as well as all participants present in the auditorium.

In his remarks His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian expressed his high regards for all mothers and their unparallel devotion to the upbringing of their children which according to the late Catholicos Vasken I of blessed memory entailed the divine qualities of the Holy Virgin, the Mother of God.
