Western Diocese

On Monday evening, August 18, 2008, His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate, presided over the Stewardship Committee meeting at the Western Diocese. Very Rev. Fr. Dajad Dz. V. Yardemian, Vicar General, Archpriest Fr. Manoog Markarian, Pastor of St. John Armenian Church of Hollywood, Dr. Vahram Biricik, Chair, Mr. Derik Ghookasian, Vice Chair, Dr. Arto Haddadian, Secretary, Mr. Raffi Kindirjian, Treasurer, Mrs. Margaret Lulejian, Dr. Yeghia Taglyan, and Mr. and Mrs. Nshan Blikian were some of the participants of this meeting. The main topic discussed during the meeting was the preparation of priesthood-candidates in the Western Diocese. Several new priesthood-candidates from the Western Diocese will begin attending graduate schools in California and New York beginning this fall.

After the meeting, the Stewardship Committee meeting participants led by His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian joined the newly ordained priests, Fr. Khajag Shahbazyan, Burbank Parish Priest, Fr. Avedis Abovian, Youth Director, the Western Diocese Priesthood-Candidates and their wives during a reception held at the Armen and Gloria Hampar Room of the Diocese.

The Primate in his remarks once again expressed his sincere gratitude and presented special medallions to Mr. and Mrs. Nshan Blikian, and Mr. and Mrs. Missak Nazarian for becoming the Godfathers of the newly ordained Priests, Fr. Avedis Abovian and Fr. Khajag Shahbazian.
