Writers Union Holds Genocide Commemoration Ceremony

California Armenian Writers Union presented flowers at the Khatcker (monument) dedicated to the Genocide located at the Headquarters of the Western Diocese


 

On the evening of April 23rd, the California Armenian Writers Union presented flowers at the Khatcker (monument) dedicated to the Genocide located at the Headquarters of the Western Diocese. Then inside the Diocese, Union President Krish Tavtian offered his remarks as the main speaker. Other participants read passages from writers who were martyred in the Genocide. The Primate gave his message. Clergy of LA area were in attendance

Divine Liturgy in Memory of Armenian Martyrs

Following the program the Divine Liturgy was celebrated by Fr. Zaven Markosyan. The Primate delivered the sermon, during which he made quotations from the Venerable Vazken I, Catholicos of All Armenians. His Excellency Armen Liloyan, Consul General of Armenia, was in attendance. Following church services, they proceeded out the Khatchkar, and there a Requiem Service was performed.
